The Claims Expert Training program prepares USVN volunteers to explain the initial VA disability claims process clearly, accurately, and responsibly. Participants learn the basics of service connection, claim types, Intent to File, common VA forms, evidence categories, C&P exams, and the steps Veterans may encounter after submitting a claim. This training also emphasizes USVN’s current scope of support. Volunteers provide general information, explain possible next steps, and direct Veterans to official resources or VA-accredited representatives when claim-specific assistance or representation is needed. USVN volunteers do not file claims, complete forms on behalf of Veterans, access VA.gov accounts, or handle private claim records.
